Sanyi is a wild and energetic eight-year-old boy who races around the streets of Budapest on his skateboard. The city is his playground, a haven of chaos far away from his family’s cramped one-room apartment. 

By chance, he meets the young filmmakers Dávid and Bálint on the street, and so begins a long friendship. Over the course of 12 years, ‘KIX’ documents how an innocent eight-year-old boy grows up to become a persecuted enemy of the state. ‘Fate is stronger than will’, as a homeless man says to the camera. A dark prophecy that casts a shadow over Sanyi. For how long can he avoid the consequences of his actions? And is he simply doomed to fail? 

With films like ‘Streetwise’ and ‘Kids’ as its predecessors, ‘KIX’ is a sensation of a film that combines a complete unruly wildness with a genuine social commitment – even when the story takes a tragic twist.

Sanyi est un garçon de huit ans à l’énergie indomptable. Budapest est son terrain de jeu sur son skate. Un havre de chaos pour échapper à l’étroitesse de l’appartement familial.

Par hasard, il rencontre le jeune artiste vidéo Dávid dans la rue et autour de quelques tricks de skate commence une longue amitié.

Pendant 12 ans, ‘KIX’ documente comment un garçonnet innocent devient un ennemi d’état. ‘Le destin est plus fort que la volonté’ nous dit un sans domicile fixe sur le bord d’un trottoir. Une prophétie qui accompagne Sanyi comme une hombre…

Combien de temps pourra-t-il éviter les conséquences de ses actes ?  Est-il voué à un triste sort ?

Avec des films comme ‘Streetwise’ et ‘Kids’ comme prédécesseurs, ‘KIX’ donne la sensation d’allier un cinéma sauvage et sans règle à un engagement social profond, même quand le récit prend un tournant tragique.
