BOY SALOUM

– Audrey Gallet –

Thiat and Kilifeu, two very popular rappers, Denise, a social media specialist, and Fadel, a reporter, are all 30-year-old Senegalese filled with energy and charisma. When they initiate the movement « Y’en a marre! » (« Fed up! ») in 2011, they don’t know that they are about to make history in Senegal by leading a huge protest against the regime. Within a few months, they become the voice of the African youth struggling with unemployment and insecurity, subject to the diktat of global economy, and deprived of an education or a health system, but also rooted in its time, open-minded, and thirsty for culture and democracy.
